Why develop biosensors for the detection of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2?
Having an automatic detection system to identify and quantify specific IgM/ IgG antibodies against the SARS-CoV2 virus will allow the diagnostic and monitoring of COVID-19 disease in a massive way, fast, reliable, and cheap way, without the need for highly trained personnel.
Our system will be able to identify if a person has been exposed or not to the SARS-CoV2 virus, or if a person presents an active infection, thanks to its proportions of IgM/IgG antibodies.
Serological methods are the only way to detect asymptomatic persons in a population.
